Building Designers Adelaide

Boutique Adelaide building designers with 20+ years' experience. New homes, renovations and subdivisions drafted to your budget and lodged for council approval.

Building Designers in Adelaide

Lumea is a small, locally owned building design studio working across metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia. We design new homes, renovations, extensions and subdivisions, then prepare the documentation your council needs to approve them.

You deal directly with our director, Lucas McNicol, and the same small team from the first sketch to the final drawing.

What We Design

  • New homes, designed around your site, your brief and how you live
  • Renovations and extensions that rework what you already have
  • Subdivisions and land division
  • Sheds, outbuildings and fit-outs, documented to the same standard

Designed Around You

Every project starts with a conversation about your requirements, your site and your budget. We would rather tell you early what your budget can realistically achieve than draw something beautiful you cannot afford to build.

From there we develop concepts, refine them with you, and document the design to a level your builder can price and construct accurately. Where a project needs engineering or an energy rating, we coordinate those consultants, so you deal with one point of contact instead of three.

Drafted for Council Approval

Every set of plans we produce is prepared to satisfy South Australian planning requirements and lodged through the PlanSA portal on your behalf. If the council comes back with a request for further information, we handle it.

Most projects run six to ten weeks from first concept to lodgement, depending on how quickly concepts are signed off and whether consultants are involved.
